Double Blind Peer Review Process

  1. Research and review manuscript will undergo the double blind peer review process.
  2.  The manuscripts will be reviewed (double blind peer review) from two different reviewers (not provided by the author) to ensure the integrity of the double blind peer-review for submission to World Journal of Biology and Biotechnology, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other.

About Peer-Review

  1. World Journal of Biology and Biotechnology aims at rapid publication of high quality research while maintaining rigorous but sympathetic peer review process.
  2. Manuscripts (other than those that are of insufficient quality or unlikely to be competitive enough for publication) will be peer-reviewed by two or more experts in the fields, and a decision is returned to the authors in about two months
  3. If due to special circumstance, the review process takes more time, authors will be informed by email.

About Authorship

  1. The corresponding (submitting) author is responsible for having ensured that this agreement has been attained and for managing all communication between the journal and all co-authors, before and after publication.

  3. If co-author has any objections, co-author will contact the editorial office as soon as possible.
  4. If we do not hear back from co-author within five working days (one week), we will assume co-author is agreed with co-authorship.
  5. Any change to the authors list after submission, such as a change in the order of the authors or the deletion of authors needs to be approved by a signed letter from every author.
  6. You cannot add the author's name at the final stage of publication.
  7. If you want to add the name of an author, you should provide all the information why the author was skipped in the manuscript before? and why it is necessary now?

Minimum Requirements for Authorship

  1. All persons designated as authors should qualify for authorship, and all those who qualify should be listed.
  2. Each author should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for appropriate portions of the content.
  3. One or more author should take responsibility for the integrity of the work as a whole, from inception to published article.

Authorship Credit

  1. Substantial contributions to conception and design, or acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data and b) Final approval of the version to be published.
  2. Acquisition of funding, the collection of data, or general supervision of the research group, by themselves, do not justify authorship.
  3. Authors should provide a description of what each contributed, and editors should publish that information.
  4. All others who contributed to the work who are not authors should be named in the Acknowledgments, and what they did should be described.
Minimum Requirements for Acknowledgments
  1. List all contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship, such as a person who has provided purely technical help, writing assistance, or a department chair who provided only general support.
  2. Financial and material support should also be acknowledged.
  3. Groups of persons who have contributed materially to the paper but whose contributions do not justify authorship may be listed under a heading such as "clinical investigators" or "participating investigators," and their function or contribution should be described, e.g., "served as scientific advisors," "critically reviewed the study proposal," "collected data," or "provided and cared for study".
  4. Because readers may infer their endorsement of the data and conclusions, all persons must have given written permission to be acknowledged.

Co-author Contributions

  1. Authors are strongly encouraged to include a statement at the end noted to specify the actual contribution of each co-author to the completed work.
  2.  World Journal of Biology and Biotechnology allows two co-authors to be specified as having contributed equally to the work being described. The author contribution statement should be clear like the following example:

  1. Author A, B., C. and D developed the concepts and also designed the experiments.
  2. Author A, and B performed P. infestans transformations and plant inoculations.
  3. Author C carried out confocal microscopy and advised on cell biology.
  4. Author D performed GUS assays and light microscopy.
  5. Author E and F quantified gene expression.
  6. Antibody detection of tagged transform was performed by A, B, C and D.
  7. Author F carried out experiments with P. atrosepticum.
  1. If minor revision is required, authors should return a revised version as soon as possible within 5 working days.
  2. If major revision is required, authors should return a revised version within 15 working days.

About Plagiarism

  1. Plagiarism is the use or close imitation of the language and ideas of another author and representation of them as one's own original work. Duplicate publication, sometimes called self-plagiarism, occurs when an author reuses substantial parts of his or her own published work without providing the appropriate references.
  2. This can range from getting an identical paper published in multiple journals, where authors add small amounts of new data to a previous paper.
  3. Plagiarism can be said to have clearly occurred when large chunks of text have been copied and pasted.
  4. Such manuscripts would not be considered for publication in the Journals. But minor plagiarism without dishonest intent is relatively frequent, for example when an author reuses parts of an introduction from an earlier paper.
  5. The editors will judge any case of which they become aware (either by their own knowledge of and reading about the literature, or when alerted by referees) on its own merits.

About Duplicate Publication

  1. The material must be original and not published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  2. Author is responsible to get permission from previous publisher or copyright holder if an author is re-using any part of paper e.g., figure(s), published elsewhere, or that is copyrighted.
  3. The editors consider all the materials in good faith that their journals have full permission to publish every part of the submitted material including illustrations.

Self-citation/ Falsification

  1. Self-citations are highly restricted for publication and manuscript will be rejected immediately
  2. The scientific Platform has the right to impose additional an action, not mentioned above for the falsified data.
